Objective: In this article, we report findings from a 1-year longitudinal study examining the impact of change in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms following combat deployment on National Guard soldiers’ perceived parenting and couple adjustment 1 year following return from Iraq.

Impact of Teen Depression on Academic, Social, and Physical Functioning

Self-reported survey data of depressed and non-depressed teens were utilized to examine the impact of teen depression on functioning within peer, family, school, and physical domains. In addition, the impact of teen depression on parents’ perceived strain and burden was also examined.

Help Seeking by Parents in Military Families on Behalf of Their Young Children

Online survey data were used to examine individual and child well-being, recognition of child problems, and help-seeking behaviors among military parents. Most military families were aware of their child’s problems and sought help.
