Previous research has found posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in combat veterans to be associated with impaired psychological functioning in their partners. However, little is known about possible mediators of this association.

Given the dramatic rates of mental health concerns among military veterans, more needs to be done to connect wounded warriors to the resources available to them.

Iranian female spouses/caregivers (N=244) of Veterans with war-related bilateral lower limb amputations participated in interviews regarding overall quality of life as well as physical, emotional, social, and mental health.
