The protracted conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan and an all-volunteer military has resulted in multiple war zone deployments for many service members.
Twenty-three couples, in which one partner was a Veteran, were selected from a larger qualitative sample to better understand the impact of war zone deployment on intimate relationships.
Military fathers endure repeated separations from their children. In this qualitative study we describe military fathers' range of involvement with their children, paying special attention to the implications of deployment separation and reintegration.
