Family Separations in the Military

Type
Summary

Discusses problems related to military separations and some prevention and treatment strategies for counselors. Separation entails 3 stages: preparation, survival, and reunion. Each generates its own emotions and problems, of which clinicians should be aware. Care providers should remember that reunion may bring out old or new problems and maintain vigilance for family dysfunction after a family is reunited.
