Helping Children Cope when a Loved One is on Military Deployment

Americans read the big, bold newspaper headlines: “U.S. to Send New Soldiers to Afghanistan,” “Duty Calls,” and “Local Guard Soldiers Headed to Iraq.” When these headlines refer to members of children’s families and others from the community, teachers want to learn what they can do to help.
