Summary

The Service member’s transition out of the military involves the entire family. Although all family members understand that military service is time-limited, the transition can still be experienced as abrupt and unsettling due to the vast number of changes in routines and lifestyle. This report summarizes findings from a systematic review of the materials and programs that support Service members and their spouses as they transition from the military to a civilian role. This review concludes with a summary of the current resources and recommendations that may be useful in developing a resource guide for military spouses.
