Summary
This work describes the relationship between self-assessment of 24 character strengths among new cadets at West Point and subsequent retention through initial basic cadet training. Results indicate retained cadets (N=1134) rated themselves higher on eight character strengths than leavers (N=73). Regression models based on strengths were developed to predict retention.
