Married to the Military: Military-family Relations in the Israel Defense Forces

Type
Summary

965 spouses of Israel Defense Forces completed a telephone interview to analyze attitudes toward family life and work-family practices among Israel Defense Forces’ personnel. The Israel Defense Forces demands on personnel, both men and women, led to family arrangements that deviated from the norm in civilian Israeli-Jewish families. Specifically, families with female Service members placed a heavier burden on male spouses.
