Bullying

Youth program staff will learn how to identify bullying and what may increase the likelihood that some youth are targets for bullies. Youth program staff will also learn about how bullying can be different for youth of different ages, genders, and statuses, and how to apply the concepts they learn in the module to navigate several scenarios. This module includes research, background, and data related to bullying and we hope is a practical tool for training youth program staff on this topic. The Bullying module is part of a larger Positive Youth Development Certificate aimed to support foundational knowledge within the youth development field.

Motivational Interviewing in Transitional Planning: Supporting Youth Transitioning Out of Foster Care 

Nearly 25% of the children in foster care are between 14-17 years of age. This article articulates the importance of independent living, and how to successfully help teens transition.
